Common Questions Regarding Hospice and Palliative Care

Q: What is the difference between hospice and palliative care?

A: Hospice care is usually for patients with a terminal illness and treatment is no longer curative. Typically, patients have about six months to live when they are searching for Hospice Care.
Palliative care, however, can begin at the time of diagnosis and is not meant to treat the illness but rather to provide relief from the complications associated with the disease. The main goal for both hospice and palliative care is to improve the quality of life and to make you comfortable.
